Hot Summer Nights at The Old Sugar Mill
Join the Old Sugar Mill as we “kick off” a month long celebration of "Farm to Fork Uncorked!"

See cars from every era, the 60’s to today's modern classics while dancing to the latest hits by Sacramento’s hottest dance band, “Big Crush”! The wineries will be uncorking wine through the evening along with food trucks serving up some "Farm to Fork" bites. This event is family friendly so come out and get ready to enjoy a Hot Summer Nights in Sacramento's own Wine Country!

Wine Education Demonstrations: Let the Grape Speak!

Type of Education: Nurturing Nature for a Natural Wine
Wine Education Description:
We will be sharing with you, who we are and how we started, how and what we grow; and how we give back. How being a local family farm in Clarksburg has shaped our purpose and our products? How our “hands off” approach to provide a natural wine, lets the grape speak. Our wine education will provide an insight to what sustainable farming is, how dry farming affects growth, and what it means to use native yeast. We look forward to sharing our passion and hope you will be enticed to try our locally estate grown and produced family wines! Bring your commemorative wine glass for sampling!

Wine Education Demonstrations: So, you want to own a winery?
Winery: Draconis Winery
Time: 10:00 am – 11:30 am
Wine Education Description:
Learn the costs, commitment, and realistic expectations to starting, owning, and running your own winery. Everything from the initial expenses to strategic implementation of tasting room design, this 90-minute session will take a deep dive into many aspects of wine economics and why 95% of all new wineries fail within the first three years. Understand how quality wine making is directly related to the economic viability of any winery and why brand equity is absolutely critical for a sustainable operation. This session will cover several baseline topics with questions encouraged throughout.

Wine Education Demonstrations: Barrel Influences on Wine!
Winery: Due Vigne Winery
Time: 10:00 am – 11:30 am
Type of Education: Barrel comparisons
Wine Education Description:
Ever wonder how wine develops flavors such as toast, spice, or vanilla? It's all in the barrel aging process. Join us as we taste through several different barrel samples of our 2017 Ancient Vine Zinfandel. During this interactive class, you will learn about different style barrels and the type of oak used to create them. In addition, you will learn how each type of oak influences the wine in different ways. We will also discuss the different grain and toast levels of oak and how each level alters the aging process. Best of all, you can taste for yourself the side by side differences of oak influence when sampling multiple barrels of our 2017 Ancient Vine Zinfandel. Don't miss out on this amazing tasting and education! Bring your commemorative wine glass for sampling!

Wine Education Demonstration: To blend or not to blend that is the question?
Winery: Bonitata Boutique Wines
Time: 10:00 am – 11:30 am
Type of Education: Why and how wineries blend wines
Wine Education Description:
In this demonstration, we will explore why and how wineries make blends of different types of grapes, and the many different reasons why wineries blend. We will demonstrate how we blend Petite Sirah. This is going to be a hands-on demonstration in which you will be tasting different samples of Petite Sirah. After the demonstration you are invited to come for a free taste of the final blend at our tasting bar.

It will be discounted for the attendees for the day.

Yoga and Zin! Two simple words that can only truly be defined as pure bliss.
Join us at the Old Sugar Mill for a Yoga and Zin session! Spend one hour with Rachelle, Certified Yoga Instructor, as you explore yoga movement to stretch, lengthen, tone, distress, and relax the body. All levels are welcome!
